This post was written retrospectively...
I think the easiest way to go through what happened next, is chronologically, through a few days in the month of March 2025, in this one post.
*We took the first weekend of March off hockey, as per the advice of James' physiotherapist. We had been tracking his pain level throughout each day, and wanted to see if the lack of activity had an impact on pain level. It didn't, so he continued playing.
*Wednesday, March 12 - We got in to see James' Dr. His physiotherapist had sent her a letter, expressing her concerns, and requesting an x-ray. Our Dr. printed us a requisition for an x-ray. As it was March Break, and there was no school this week, I went online to look at the x-ray schedule at the IWK for the remainder of the week. We lucked out and were able to book an x-ray for the next day.
*Thursday, March 13 - We went to the IWK for James to have his x-ray. He had had x-rays from being diagnosed with pneumonia earlier this winter, so this was not scary or unfamiliar for him. I booked a phone appointment to review results with our Dr. on March 19.
*Monday, March 17 - School was back after March Break. I was at work, on a prep period - so I was in the staff room on the computer. My phone rang, and caller ID showed my Dr. calling. This was weird, as we had a scheduled appointment for Wednesday. Her receptionist was calling to say my Dr. is requesting an in person appointment to review the x-ray results. I reminded him that we already have a phone call scheduled for Wednesday, but he let me know the Dr. was insisting on in person. We scheduled it for tomorrow afternoon. I knew it wasn't good news. It was hard to focus and my mind was spiralling.
